Award-winning construction and fit-out contractor Gilbert-Ash has donated more than a quarter of a million pounds to charity and community initiatives in the past three years.
The news comes as the firm produced a video and report highlighting its commitment to a positive societal impact, the environment and diversity.
Since 2023, the company has contributed over £280,000 to charity and community initiatives, engaged over 421 apprentices and invested in over 16,500 hours of training for its staff.
Centred around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Gilbert-Ash’s ESG Strategy to 2030 aims to make a significant impact through its four pillars: People, Planet, Place and Profit.
With 2025 a benchmark year for the strategy, the company’s ESG lead, Michael Heron invites viewers to see how the company is taking strides towards its goals.
Showcasing a range of projects the company has recently completed and is currently working on, the video sees Gilbert-Ash’s ESG champions outline the success they have achieved across each pillar so far.
Michael Heron said: “Our ESG strategy is something that everyone at Gilbert-Ash is focused on. As a responsible business we’re passionate about managing our impact in the places we build and beyond.
“Since 2023, we have dedicated over 5,000 hours to community initiatives, and we are in the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
“We are on course to meet our 2030 targets. The strategy’s goal is to create projects which have positive outcomes for our society, the economy and the environment.”
Meanwhile, the company has also released its 2025 ESG report, noting its goals for the year ahead will focus on sustainable procurement practices.
Reflecting on the report, Gilbert-Ash’s Managing Director, Ray Hutchinson said: “Three years into our ESG strategy, our collaborative efforts within the sector have enabled us to achieve 85% of the ambitious targets we set ourselves for 2025.
