The refurbishment and restoration of a Grade II listed mansion building at the heart of City of London Freemen’s School.

The works to this historic building took place within the live school campus. The newly refurbished building provides facilities for Sixth Form study within a variety of spaces; Harkness Rooms, Quiet Study Areas, a formal library and project rooms complementing flexible teaching spaces. Community liaison and respect for project neighbours were key priorities for the School, successfully managed by the Gilbert-Ash team on site.

Testimonial

“I should like to commend, with utmost sincerity, the work that Kevin, Brendan and the rest of the Gilbert-Ash team have undertaken in an astonishing restoration and renovation project. I have been fortunate to tour my Chairman of Governors and other Members around the completed project, as well as taking the Town Clerk around the building, just last week. The latter suggested that this was one of the finest restoration projects that he has seen. Having worked with Gilbert-Ash on two projects now, I could not speak more highly about the level of professionalism and care that has been taken on both, alongside very carefully managing to fit in with the rhythm of a very busy School. Thank you once again for the wonderful work that has been done on this project.”
